According to a recent academic argument, Omortag or Omurtag (in Bulgarian) was not necessarily someone persecuting the Christian faith but particular forms of it. It is also worth mentioning that some of the stone inscriptions from his rule bear crosses surrounding his name...

Here is clearly written his title and name, even a little distorted "kanas bigom" - "Knyaz s Bogom" (from a person, who does not knows Bulgarian, it sounds exactly like this. The meaning is "A Ruler from Bog" and it is clearly understood even today. -- 212.5.158.246 ( talk) 23:37, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
