This definition of Old Labour is at least questionable - most of the Party would see OL more in terms of the values of the George Brown/Jim Callaghan wing of the party in the 70s, strongly TU-based (good!) but not instinctively 'liberal'. For this reason many of the Party have sought for an alternative description of the Party's mainstream - 'Classic Labour' from the Nottingham City Leader, seems to me a good one.
