A fact from Old Church of Siġġiewi appeared on Wikipedia's
Main Page in the Did you know column on 10 June 2020 (

Did you know... that the Old Church of Siġġiewi was used for agricultural purposes until 2007?
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as

... that the Old Church of Siġġiewi(pictured) was used for agricultural purposes until 2007? Source: "The site formerly occupied by the church and its immediate surroundings was used for agricultural purposes after having been converted into a field and a large orchard" (
source)
ALT1:... that significant ruins of the Old Church of Siġġiewi(pictured) still survive even though it was demolished in the 17th century and its site was abandoned for hundreds of years? Source: "the old parish church had structural problems and was abandoned, until Archbishop Cocco Palmieri, gave orders for it to be demolished in the late seventeenth century" (
source), "Significant portions of the original structure, including important decorative architectural elements, have survived of this structure. The remains of the church had fallen into disuse after the completion of the new parish church in 1682." (
source)
Article creation date versus filing date okay. Article length okay at 4073 characters (692 words) readable prose size. Article sourcing and neutrality good, and no evident signs of copyvio. QPQ done with diligence. No image was included with the nomination, but how about adding what is now the top image? I think it would show up okay on the main page.
Both hooks are sourced and neutral and within length requirements. Both are potentially interesting, but maybe you could combine them? Something like:
ALT2: ... that significant ruins of the Old Church of Siġġiewi(pictured) still survive even though it was demolished in the 17th century and its site ignored or used for agriculture?

Wasted Time R: Thanks for the review! I just added the photo to the nomination (I had not included it earlier since at the time it wasn't included in the article). ALT2 is OK for me as well: I'll just leave it up to who's promoting the hook to the prep area to choose.
