Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because this subject is simply most certainly notable, as per sources: Kelowna Capital News, Kelowna Capital News, Kelowna Daily Courier, Castanet. I can't think of any reason why this is not notable, and for a speedy deletion tag to be placed on it is riduclous; it should have at least been put through articles for deletion. A7 is for subjects that are just from random people, not this stuff. I can expand the article further to prove notability to some certain people, even though the consensus is already clear. CSD is for articles that are a candidate for speedy deletion, no matter who they are by. All the sources you mention seem to be local news sources. Not good enough. TheLongTone ( talk) 22:52, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply
Really? CSD A7 is meant for articles that have absolutely no sources or anything over the Internet. See User:SoWhy/Common A7 mistakes. "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source." You need to at least nominate at articles for deletion. It doesn't matter if they are "local" sources, they're news! WP:GNG requires significant coverage in reliable sources from any secondary sources. I have more sources I can also show you. Regardless, I stand by more comments above, and I will provide further sources, or expand the article, if needed. TBr and ley 22:57, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply
No, it is for articles that make no credible claim as to the significance of their subject, significance meaning of more than local, temporary or specialist interest. (so it does matter that all the sources are local: they are good for backing up facts, but do not establish notability as WP interprets the term) As far as the article goes so far, its just another shopping mall. Very few shopping malls are notable. This is, btw, far from being the only article I have CSD'd, including a fair number of businesses. I have this page on my watchlist, so you don't need to tell me if you reply to this on my talk page. TheLongTone ( talk) 23:08, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply
I eat some of my words, having read the link you gave, but still stand by my opinion. We'll see what happens. TheLongTone ( talk) 23:13, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply

List of sources for article development and notability claim:

As you can still, a lot of the above is still local news, but there at 5 sources that are not local (such as The Globe and Mail, Newswire, etc.) We'll see what happens. Happy Holidays to all, TBr and ley 23:21, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply

And to you...deck the halls with boughs of holly, 'tis the season to fill your trolley. I'd put your energy into bigging this mall up in the article, not posting links on this page, though. TheLongTone ( talk) 23:33, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply
Thanks for that, that's just there for possible further development for me (or perhaps someone else) to use. I'll probably expand it soon, depending on its result. TBr and ley 23:43, 16 December 2012 (UTC) reply
