Dubious to suggest the two are similar. The Bastille was created by enclosing the Saint-Antoine gate that was part of the Parisian city walls. Work started 1370 to 1383. This castle according to the text was completed in 1373. Therefore assuming this was during the Hundred Years' War, the likelihood that the two strongholds are in anyway linked is a fallacy. Besides the Bastille had only just been begun and so in such a short period of time, before it was was even finished, to have a similar castle in England built to match, is quite frankly ludicrous.
