I'm no expert by any means, but the words nova cançao are Portuguese, so the corresponding country is probably Brazil or Portugal.

Fixed the error.
nova canço is a Spanish genre, and
nova canção is Portuguese. thanks.

In castillian Spanish there is no letter ç, and a word ending in o would usually be male, going with a male adjective, while nova would be female, and not a castillian adjective anyway. It would be nueva canción in Spanish, so I think there still is an error. Unless it is
gallego.

Or Catalan ? The nueva canción page lists "Nova Cançó: Catalunya". --

the literal meaning (new song) should be included some-where early on in the article.

Celia Cruz
It's simply nonsense to say she was an example of nueva trova! She sang only with big bands and conjuntos, and was a great opponent of the Castro revolution.
