Confusing sentence

I'm not sure whether this part of the sentence serves some function: "located deep within the cerebral hemispheres and brainstem". Nuclei are clusters of neurons in the CNS, and I think that part is redundant if not also inaccurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.69.74.83 ( talk) 00:00, 6 January 2020 (UTC) reply

Thanks for pointing this out. We are a website that develops because of volunteer contributions, so why not give it a go and create an account / edit it yourself! -- Tom (LT) ( talk) 08:55, 7 January 2020 (UTC) reply

Nuclei only inside white matter in brain?

Are nuclei always contained entirely within white matter, or can they be separate structures outside white matter? UnderEducatedGeezer ( talk) 22:21, 6 November 2017 (UTC) reply

Pretty much by definition, nuclei are grey matter. It's certainly possible to have two nuclei adjacent to one another, with little or no white matter in between. -- Tryptofish ( talk) 23:11, 6 November 2017 (UTC) reply
