I've cleaned this up and removed the numerous factual errors eg. petrol-electric nonsense and the erroneous geographical data, viz. the scheme did not run Central to Central in 1904 as implied by the original text.
Further work needed includes the Shildon and Newport scheme and Newcastle and York. If no one else is interested I'll complete the rest in due course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pandondene ( talk • contribs) 19:49, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

help)The heading of this article deals with electrification schemes on the North Eastern Railway. If you are so keen to see experimental hybrid vehicles covered, then please start a new section. And yes, I'm aware of the references you provided and I still don't see the relevancy to this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pandondene ( talk • contribs) 10:15, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Is this the Foss Islands branch line? If so, the dates don't add up. It can't have been absorbed in 1862 if it wasn't opened till 1880. Roberttherambler ( talk) 14:06, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
