I have removed sections of text as copyright violations. These should not be restored. As a small example the removed text had a paragraph starting "As a part of the long drawn movement against the autocratic rule" which is identical to the source. There are many other sentences which are identical or too closely paraphrased. Please do not restore this text without further discussion. I am confident in my assessment of this as a copyright violation, and so it should not be restored, but if you disagree you can seek a second opinion - I suggest User:Moonriddengirl. I've done a thorough rewrite but part of the problem is that almost all the details we know about his early life come from one source, which is the one cited above, or Banglapedia. Does anybody know of a better or more contemporary source? Perhaps in Bengali? Surely there must be some interviews with the family about Noor? Crtew ( talk) 10:25, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
It seems highly unlikely that Hossain was born in Narinda, Dhaka in 1961 as his family was said to move from their village in the south of Bangladesh to the Dhaka capital only after 1971. Can anyone confirm with sources independent from Banglapedia? Crtew ( talk) 10:15, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
The article will be moved to Noor Hossain as that is the search term of his name in latin script that pulls up the most information. However, there is enough under Nur Hossain to justify noting in the lead that this is an alternative form. Crtew ( talk) 10:27, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
The result of the proposal was moved. For now, we'll keep the disambiguation page, this time at Noor Hossain (disambiguation). -- BDD ( talk) 00:52, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
Noor Hossain (activist) → Noor Hossain – This person looks more important than the cricketer and should be the primary meaning. PatGallacher ( talk) 14:50, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
