Discovery of various Pacific islands

In general, euro-centric accounts of history tend to give europeans credit for "discovering" islands, but in most cases in the tropical pacific, the islands were already known to (and often inhabited by) Pacific Islanders. It will usually be more accurate and objective to replace the word "discovered" with "sighted" or "made contact with" or something along those lines -- Jesseseeem ( talk) 07:50, 31 July 2020 (UTC) reply

Inconsistency!

Either Nomoi is a "group of three atolls" (Satawan, Etal and Lukunor) or "Upper Mortlock Islands" (Nama Island, Losap and Namoluk atolls) are included also. In addition, saying about both islands and atolls without grouping islands with their atolls (for example, there are nothing about Kutti and Ta are actually the islets of the Satawan Atoll) is totally unclean. The only way to undestand the text is looking to a chart (but none is included :) ). 128.68.74.15 ( talk) 14:11, 21 February 2023 (UTC) reply
