The Pimpernel did not wear a mask. This seems to be a common misconception perpetuated by of all things the Daffy Duck cartoon The Scarlet Pumpernickel, which was more a pastiche of Zorro & The Pimpernel. (I guess that’s where most got their impression of the character?) In the original stories, movies, and as in the Blackadder episode; he does not wear a mask but disguises, impersonates people. There is no masked Pimpernel person like you see in the Daffy Duck cartoon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orzzo ( talk • contribs) 18:05, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Is it known why it was cut from the DVDs etc? I can't think of a reason. 86.146.232.17 01:16, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
