Might we want to mention here the unique features about the New York Ave station, like the glass walls/barriers around the escalators, instead of the usual thick concrete, as well as the white theme instead of the usual brown drab? It also has the only barbed wire I have seen in any metro station (on the white fences-also unique-that line the edges of the track), and a piece of the Metropolitan Branch Trail was constructed along with the station. Anything else? - Rmeskill 18:19, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I've seen the station refered to by different codes... One is B97 since the two yards on the B side of the Red Line are B99 for the one intown and B98 for the one at Glenmont. B35, OTOH comes from the idea of it being B3.5 since New York Avenue is B03 and Rhode Island is B04. Any official information on this? Naraht ( talk) 15:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't think the name change goes into effect until June 2012. Until then, I think the article should have stayed with the current name. 140.147.236.195 ( talk) 21:29, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza

I was going to wait and change the name (ideally) Sunday night (I happen to be off work on Monday), in anticipation of June 18, when the change--as I understand it--is supposed to take effect. I don't know what specifically--what "christening"--happened today, to make the change beyond a shadow of a doubt (the map at WMATA's website hasn't changed, and that, according to the Wikipedia group, is supposed to be the arbiter). Yesterday, a train operator said "NO-MA." This morning, another said "New York Avenue." But at this point, I won't make an issue or change anything back. I'll just consider that SchuminWeb has saved me the trouble; I thought he might. (Although I'm kind of hoping the "christening" image will not stay. Aside from it being a rather imprecise explanation to have in an encyclopedia article, I'm one of those people still clinging to the quaint notion that a baptism actually means something.) I thought talk pages were supposed to move with articles. How come this one still shows under the old title? Uporz膮dnicki ( talk) 21:07, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
