His official name is Nikos Galis and not Nick wich is his nickname. You can see that the sites below name him NIKOS and not Nick.
Galis was made great assists but he NEVER played at the point guard position. When he played for Aris he was the shooting guard and Panagiotis Giannakis the point guard. Both of them played about 38 minutes each so there was no place for another point guard. Panagiotis Giannakis replaced from Giorgos Doxakis and Antonis Stamatis. They were point guards.
When Galis played for Panathinaikos, point guard was Tit Sock and Minas Gekos or Giannis Georgikopoulos.
Even in the final game of Eurobasket 1987, when Panagiotis Giannakis sent off with 5 fouls, Memos Ioannou replaced him until the end of the game. Galis was always shooting guard. Sportin ( talk) 12:16, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The article needed to specify his actual correct legal birth name. So I added that, which is officially documented as Nikolaos Georgalis in the English language, or Νικόλαος Γεωργαλής in the Greek language. Nikos Galis is how he is commonly known outside the USA, and Nick Galis is how he is commonly known in the USA, but those are not his actual name. So that needs to be specified in the article, and his actual correct legal name, which is Nicolaos Georgalis, should be first. Here are the copies of his legal documents, as reported by the Greek newspaper Gazetta's website proving this: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] 173.216.234.214 ( talk) 12:45, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

Some sources believe that the 50 point game was on October 20, 1983, but I looked at video of the game, and translated the description into English, and it says that Galis scored 24 points, while Jordan had 34. Basketball reference list Jordan as scoring 34 in an exhibition game against Greece on that date, which was won by North Carolina 100-83. There is another game that North Carolina played against Greece the next day, but I can't find anything on that game. Even according to the New York Times, the game on the 20th was supposed to be the one in which he scored 50, but Galis says he can't recall how much he scored. The Times article doesn't mention the date, but mentions Galis and the Greek team playing against North Carolina as part of a tournament, and that being the game that Galis fans say he scored 50 on Jordan. The game on the 20th was part of a tournament, while the one on the 21st was an exhibition.
