just because some fake articles report some lies Nikolai Volkoff told does not make them truth. Nikolai was 100% Croat. His middle name was Hrvoje which is CRoatian. Not NIkolai. MOther was DRagica TOmasevic, 100% Croatian, not maiden name Volkoff. Hes not the first one to embelish/make up facts about his background. Some Hitlerian wikipedians dont want the truth out and they even remove my edits on talk pages.
In an interview he once said Andre the Giant was half Croatian and half Polish too. Andre was half Bulgarian. Nikolai mixed it all up.
Interestingly, a fellow Croatian-native played the first Soviet Volkoff character in American pro-wrestling. Steve Gobb, born Gobrokovich, wrestled as USSR's Nicoli Volkoff in the 1960s before it was picked up by Josip.
His grandfather has an article on Croatia's wikipedia. Ante Tomasevic. A whole book was written on his grandfather. Someone buy it and translate it!
More articles linked to Nikolai Volkoff and Volkoff gets more hits on google. Using his real name is unneccesary. -- Darren Jowalsen 17:40, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)
In the storylines, it turned out that Volkoff was really Lithuanian, not Russian, and with the fall of the Soviet Union, his pride in being Lithuanian is what lead to his split with Zukov and his face turn. Shouldn't this be at least mentioned? 76.226.109.227 ( talk) —Preceding comment was added at 09:57, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

You can't have two birthplaces. Nikolai Volkoff was born in Split, Croatia. Mr. C.C. Hey yo! I didn't do it! 22:38, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Now that Volkoff's gone, all five elimination matches in the real version of the 1990 Survivor Series have seen a fall. Nobody has yet advanced to the grand finale; Demolition are closest. The Million Dollar Team and The Mercenaries are the only full-strength teams left, suggesting life may well imitate art insofar as an eventual uphill battle for the babyfaces goes.
