You could write a lot more than just a simple listing of athletes, such as the controversy surrounding the selection by NZ Athletics (widely covered in the newspapers and legal action is being taken). Is the kind of thing I'd like to get on to writing, I'll put this page on my watch list. Mathmo Talk 04:48, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks to User:Edged for adding the tables. However I would like to make 2 points, both with respect to WP:Notability and WP:What Wikipedia is not.
1. There is excess information for the Women's Basketball team. Personal statistics should be reserved for the page for the individual. It is inappropriate to include it here when the same has not been done for other team members. If it were this page would become too large and messy. 2. There is no point wikilinking people who have no page and are in fact unlikely to ever have one. Individual pages should be made only for those who are in some way notable, merely making an Olympic team is insufficient.
Unless there is consensus to the contrary I think that this information and the redlinks be removed. Cheers, DerbyCountyinNZ ( talk) 00:11, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
