Is spelled correctly with a capital "P" not lower case. This is a common error made throughout Wikipedia that occurs when discussing the present administration. This is an office and not an individual. I hope this was a mistake, and not intentional. Please correct. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.73.32.60 ( talk) 05:14, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
Also this is under the Title of "Controversy" the entire entry appears to not be a controversy (compared to other discussion under the same header) but more a personal opinion.
Following the link provided some troopers anonymously griped about a decision by the Superintendent? No matter how much Wikipedians in general may think Orange Man Bad this hardly rises to the level of controversy. The leadership wanted to thank him for publicly saying that the return of a fugitive cop-killer hiding in Cuba should have been a condition set by the Obama Admin to lift the embargo on Cuba. It would have been controversial if Donald Trump had hit the freeway with his new badge and started pulling people over. John Simpson54 ( talk) 12:36, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
The whole: two chinstraps on the hat make the uniforms look like S.S. uniforms... I don't get it. In the context of the page's history it doesn't seem like vandalism, but I'm not sure that making such a loaded comparison without a reference to back it up adds to the article. "A saucer-shaped cap (as opposed to a "Smokey Bear" hat worn in Delaware and Pennsylvania and a "Calvary" hat in New York) is worn". I'm not sure what this means. Does it just mean they wear a perfectly normal peaked cap? -- Necrothesp 12:42, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
I think the article needs a section about the State Police acadamy would anybody like to take that task on? Editcml 13:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
There seems to be a disagreement as to the correct colors for the winter uniform. The old edit says the tie is black and the shirt is white, but a recent edit says the tie is blue and the shirt is light blue. Which is correct? Based upon the pictures on the NJSP website I would say black and white is correct.Discuss. -- Editcml 14:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
I added an infobox. Add to it as needed.
Added a section about popular culture. Please add to it.
In the more long term, more information should be under each heading, and possily change the general orders section into prose as its not exactly something unique to this particular police force.
However, in the short term, I personally feel that this article shouldn't be bumped up to b class without a couple more images, and most importantly a references section. You have to list where this information comes from, regardless of how obvious or mundane the source.
Once that has happened, this article will be suitable for B class, and we will go from there to look at higher classes with further work :). Good work though!! SGGH 10:35, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
No problem, leave a note on the project talk page, or on my own talk page when you have made any changes you're planning on, and i'll happily re-assess it for you. It looks good! SGGH 12:09, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Three references does not a B-class article make. Bumping down to start. -- ChrisRuvolo ( t) 20:35, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Just a question - Why isn't the American flag included as a patch on the uniform of the NJSP? My dad is a retired trooper and he does not know the answer to my question. Thank you - Jack F. age 12 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.72.43.228 ( talk) 21:11, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
I read an article recently which stated that the New Jersey State Police have changed the standard issue sidearm from the SIG Sauer P228 pistol in 9x19mm to the SIG Sauer P229 Enhanced Elite pistol in 9x19mm. Should we change the part about the P228 in the Academy section? L.J. Tibbs ( talk) 14:54, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
