Mexican Senate aproved a proposal for giving autonomy to this organism. However this is still an open legislative process. I deleted this section as well as the external links to the web page of the political party that promoted this proposal. It worth mentioning that I consider irrelevant to metion the political party that promoted the proposal.
Shouldn't the name of the article be " National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Data Processing" instead of "National Institute of Statistics, Geography, and Data Processing"? I think the comma after Geography is unnecessary. -- Alonso 18:20, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
