is he alive or dead? the intro says he's dead but the history doesn't mention his death at all -- 141.149.197.106 02:29, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Hasn't Cable been depowered in his current title, as well as freed from the Technovirus? Luis Dantas 16:58, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Original X-Man A character that appeared in the second What If story in the 60's was also known as X-Man, should he have a mention in this article? He couldn't very well appear in a 1992 videogame if he was created in 1995 by Loeb, now could he? I know he's from an alternate future and all, but... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.10.254.128 ( talk) 01:12, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Am I the only one that remembers the few issues where Nate teams up as a friend to Spider-Man to help him out on christmas and then later with a super charged Electro. Maybe just a little mention of their friendship would be nice. User:002KFlash052
Genetically they should be closer to "brothers" rather than "twins", eh? Shareing the same parents is not enough to be twins, you need to have identical genes to be "identical twins", and you need to share the same womb at the same time to be "fraternal twins". I guess that the multiple universe stuff gets in the way of everything. j-beda 12:07, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Considering Maddy was a clone of Jean, that would make the genetic material the same between them as well. 192.249.47.11 ( talk) 19:39, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Is he an Omega-Level Mutant?
It seems kind of strange that he is so powerful even compared to Jean Grey but yet is is not listed as an Omega-Level Mutant
Considering he died before the whole Omega-Level power rating I'd say he was. Considering Moria declared his power rating was on par with the Phoenix Force (before they altered the Phoenix Force origin... again). Dstorres
Stating 'X-man' is an Omega is still speculation though, regardless of how well reasoned that statement may be. Thus it wouldn't be reporting a fact by placing it within this article. Cerulean_flame
I have to agree. Even if it's reasonable to assume that X-Man is an Omega-level mutant, unless it's outright stated in the comics and canon, he's not. --CBG

In the Dark X-Men mini, specifically issue #2. X-Man is confirmed to be an Omega Level mutant by Dark Beast, and Osborn. - Id 11-14-2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.38.244.196 ( talk) 05:56, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
I just want to complement whoever came up with the word "equitant" in the introduction. I just looked up the word, and it is a wonderful solution to the brother/twin/clone quandry.
We really should mention that Nate was very rarely actually called "X-Man" within the comics, and for that matter I'm not even sure how the name ended up being used in-universe at all. Nate certainly never referred to him as such. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.203.205.251 ( talk • contribs) .
The History section is way too long, particularly the first and second subsection. Someone should either split them into further subsections or delete some of the superfluous information. It's almost as his entire history, issue to issue, is recorded. It is too much to read in one section. Xanthi22 01:06, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
"On the notion of a possible revival of the character, Marvel Comics, and Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada has stated that while Nate Grey is a great character, the sheer complexity of his history would be too hard for new fans to understand (although a revival as a supporting character, as opposed to the star of his own book, is not out of the question)."
This article lists his psychic powers as stronger than Cable's, but once Cable was released of the techno-virus, this became untrue (or at least the difference was vastly reduced). This should probably be mentioned in the article, as of right now, this is out dated information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.80.190 ( talk) 01:27, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
The character premiered as X-Man, and Nate Grey is his given name. Should the article be called X-Man or Nate Grey?
Has he ever really been called X-Man in the books?
I think we need to clarify this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaf2675 ( talk • contribs) 21:03, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
This is a bad article name. I stumbled across it while looking for info about the series x-man, not the character the series is about. Renaming the article to Nate Grey would be less confusing. Also, there is no entry for the series, so I still don't know how long it ran for... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.40.180.201 ( talk) 04:09, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
I've only read about 20 issues or so but is it ever confirmed that the source of Nate Greys power is the Phoenix Force? A single image in X-Man issue 43 seems to suggest that it is, in this issue Nate Grey loses his temper and for a moment is clearly surrounded by a huge fiery phoenix. Do they ever go into this further? As it's not mentioned in the article as the source of his power, I'm guessing they don't? 118.209.111.220 ( talk) 10:44, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I have recently created a page for Xman (novel). Comic book fans are all invited to enjoy the cover artwork by Mark Beyer (comics), but that's not what I'm here to discuss.
I'd like to get a better arrangement of hatnotes, redirection links, and disambiguation pages.
Currently Xman is a redirect link, and the novel is linked to on the disambiguation page.
It seems by the rules WP:DABNAME the novel has priority, so the redirect should be broken and the novel moved into its place, and a hatnote redirects X-Man readers to here or the disambiguation page. I did not do this, since I'm willing to bet there are far more readers who are interested in X-Man or even X-Men who type "xman" than there are people who have the least bit of interest in the novel, so maybe strictly following the rules isn't so good here.
Either way, I'd like to modify the hatnote on this page. It seems there's not really enough room to just add the novel up top, but maybe there is. Perhaps the Korean game show should be removed from the hatnote (personally I think a no longer running non-English game show deserves the lowest of priorities on the English Wikipedia). Overall, I expect your opinions on this to be more informed than mine.

Done I changed the hatnote, and
xman now redirects to the novel page. I thought about moving
Xman (novel) directly to
xman, without the disambiguating (novel), but thought I'd leave that for more discussion.
