does anyone out there have any knowledge of this tribe in Halifax, Warren counties, located in the Great state of North Carolina? If so, Please contact me at cloud9x39@yahoo.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cloud9x39 ( talk • contribs) 17:38, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
What language did this tribe speak and was it Algonquian? Badagnani ( talk) 18:07, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Because this is a big issue for most Indian nations, I restored this sourced section. Knowing that the state recognizes them, the next question is, does the federal government? Also I restored some other sourced sections that pertain to their history. Everyone has an opportunity to edit.-- Parkwells ( talk) 13:17, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
An unsourced mention in a timeline without footnotes is not a good source for asserting that the Nansemond met English from the Roanoke settlement. This statement needs a better source, preferably one with footnotes. In general, it would be useful to have third-party sources other than the tribe's official website, which is not footnoted.-- Parkwells ( talk) 18:51, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
The caption reads that the photo was taken in 2007 and gives the impression that its subjects are all Nansemond. This is incorrect as:
1. The gentleman on the far right is Chief Arthur Leonard "Lone Wolf" Adkins, deceased Mar. 10, 2001 (See http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23247958).
2. The gentleman in the middle is Chief Daniel Webster Custalow, deceased March 21, 2003 (See http://articles.dailypress.com/2003-03-23/news/0303230057_1_eagle-s-body-wife-trucking-service)
3. The gentlemen between the two above is former Chief Kevin Branham ( https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=chief+branham+monacan).
