I'd just like to say this is incredibly cool. Thank you Mark! - Mustafaa 00:58, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I'm done, now do Dompo! Two homerooms' worth of speakers, and I thought Laal was obscure. Mark, I changed some single quotes to doubles in the References section, because they were a mix, but now I see that you consistently use singles in the rest of the article. If that's the style you like, then for that final heart-stopping joy of anal-retentive (all right) perfection, you should have it in the refs too. Bishonen | Talk 23:11, 7 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I cannot read the last letter of the word for 'yam': . I'm not sure whether this is a problem with my browser, but this is a high unicode designation, and so I would imagine that many others would have difficulty with it.
I've started using template:unicode where I can on other articles, as this helps MSIE6 display unicode properly. However, I tried the template on the 'tone' section, but it didn't do much good. Gareth Hughes 12:27, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)

for the Low tone, I've corrected it. I've also added the unicode template, so it should display correct now. Thanks for pointing it out!

✎ 12:49, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)The current wikitext for both template:unicode and template:IPA is:
<span class="Unicode" style="font-family:{{IPA fonts}}; font-family /**/:inherit;">{{{1}}}</span>
This calls template:IPA fonts which lists the fonts in order of preference:
Chrysanthi Unicode, Doulos SIL, Gentium, GentiumAlt, Code2000, TITUS Cyberbit Basic, DejaVu Sans, Bitstream Cyberbit, Arial Unicode MS, Lucida Sans Unicode, Hiragino Kaku Gothic Pro, Matrix Unicode
There are problems with this font list. I find that AUMS produces the better text, but it does not have as good a unicode range as some of the fonts. Gareth Hughes 14:47, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I'm removing the {{todo}} template; note that the history of the to do-list can still be found at /to_do. — mark ✎ 23:56, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Nafaanra dictionary. Without tone marking, regrettably. — mark ✎ 08:32, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Many thanks to the incredible Alafo for translating this article into French, and to him and his wife for recording sound samples. It's been so great to see this happen! — mark ✎ 15:11, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I'd like to feature this as the daily featured article on the main page. But before I do, I'd like to see this article improved in two ways:
The web page Nafaanra Literacy Beginnings has a very nice picture of a literacy class. That page is CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0 licensed, so I don't know if it can be used here. I have contacted the content coordinator of the SPARK project with a request for permission to use the picture. — mark ✎ 10:09, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
I have received permission to use that picture, but the creator (Carol Jordan) cannot provide us with a higher resolution version. — mark ✎ 10:40, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Raul, I would try but I'm on a fieldtrip in Ghana right now so it'll have to wait. — mark ✎ 10:21, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
This page was recently moved to a name other than the one in the lede, along with the word "language", and the edit summary said it was per people and MOS. What's the relevant MOS here? WP:PRECISION indicates the use of the title without "language", if that is a precise name. -- JHunterJ ( talk) 17:00, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

There are quite a few issues with this article that make it a far way off (no pun intended) from meeting the criteria to be a featured article. Mostly its lack of comprehensiveness - the article mentions nothing about the history of the language, very little of the vocabulary, and there is little in the way of orthographic description either. Also, it has but two tenaciously-linked images. As such, consider this a notice of things to work on - Nafanan may have been featured article quality back in 2009 but nowadays compared to articles such as French language or even Medumba language - which is rated as a stub. I hope this article's editors can use this feedback to improve it - but considering there's been little in the way of edits since 2017, I doubt there is any community to speak of.
