Will probably start this sometime this weekend.
Sorry about the delay!
was a more important source for Solera than was the play itself.-> "was a more important source for Solera than the play itself."
"Va, pensiero, sull'ali dorate" / "Fly, thought, on golden wings"in parentheses
In the US it appeared at the Astor Opera House in New York on 4 April 1848.It should probably be mentioned whether this is the US premiere?
Nabucco was presented by the Michigan Opera Theatre...surrounding the Old City of Jerusalem. These appear to be missing inline cites.
...but the proper name of the deity is Marduk...Unsure of this wording; is "proper" the term used in the original source?
...and, today, he has become comparatively obscure. Not sure if this detail is necessary/relevant to the discussion of critical reception.
Nabucco secured Verdi's success.A large part of this paragraph quoted from a contemporary criticism of Nabucco, but it would be nice if contemporary praise were also quoted to reflect the overall positive reception.
At Verdi's funeral however, the crowds in the streets spontaneously broke into "Va, pensiero".According to Phillips-Matz 2004 as cited in the Verdi article, there was also a chorus directed by Toscanini that sang Va pensiero. Should probably include that as well.
Few yet-to-be-addressed concerns, but overall, the article is ready to be a GA. Article is well-written, verifiable, broad, and neutral. I will put this on hold until March 26. GeneralPoxter ( talk • contribs) 17:39, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
