Pending legal processes, unsubstantiated defamatory items should not be posted with a view to disparage a person who has contributed substantially for decades. The section on allegations of Sexual harassment is being constantly added by miscreants right at the top, with intent to obscure everything else. Such online vandalism must be prevented. Nayaki75 ( talk) 03:18, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
I am almost certain that this is mistitled. Chitravina is one of the several spellings of the instrument he plays, but its not part of his name. I believe someone was confused by a wording somewhere that they did not quite follow, and it is as if we put Jascha Heifetz at "Violin Jascha Heifetz". But I'm not expert on Indian naming customs, and perhaps there is some justification for this. - Jmabel | Talk 07:47, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Ravikiran has also played the slide Hawaiian guitar, and is an accomplished vocalist. He invented a variant of the chitravina called the navachitravina, which is smaller and has a clearer tone in the higher frequencies. He currently resides in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He has introduced a number of ragas also. He discovered a raga at the age of two and named it Choodamani after his mother. He has also introduced ragams such as keshavapriya, Mohini, Snehapriya, Shivamanohari and Andhakarini. He has to his credit in excess of 500 compositions. These include, apart from over 300 conventional musical forms, several short numbers that form a part of his music-dance productions as also those created for instrumental ensembles and orchestras. His Carnatic compositions cover a range of themes in various musical forms such as varnam, krti, padam, javali and tillana.

In this Indian name, the name Narasimhan is a patronymic, not a family name, and the person should be referred to by the given name, Ravikiran.
This line needs to be removed as it is vandalism and has no connection to the article. 103.72.207.213 ( talk) 15:53, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

The entire section which states sexual alllegations are simply allegations and not proven in a court of law-It might be substantiated with media reportage but the content in itself holds no merit as allegations that are crimininal in nature need to be proven in a court of law and all media references provide little or no evidence from unknown and anonymous sources which cannot be accepted as it is. 103.72.207.213 ( talk) 03:00, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

The enitre section below needs to be removed as it is a campaign of sorts which is pointing to personal venetetta and vandalism.Allegations do not hold good in a court of law esoecially when they are criminal in nature. It is defamatory content that has been published in the media without any allegations. There is an impending lawsuit against those media publications that came up with a story with no evidence. The media is not a law enforcement body or authority.Kindly request the admin the remove it completely.

Please change the last line in the first paragraph i.e. ""who has taken the chitravina (earlier called the gottuvadyam) to great heights" to "who has taken the chitravina (earlier called the Gottuvadyam, Hanumad-vina or Mahanataka-vina) to great heights" Vansur ( talk) 16:46, 10 January 2019 (UTC) Vansur ( talk) 16:46, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
The last section on this page mentions comments which are offensive in nature and allude to mere allegations. When I tried to remove the offensive material, I was blocked from further edits on the page without being given any valid reason. I believe this is a serious case of vandalism and the page needs to be placed under special protection to prevent abuse and false propaganda. Here are the reasons why the offensive material needs to be removed.
1) The ICC (Internal Complaints Committee) formed to handle cases related to sexual allegations has certified that no complaints have been received against Mr Ravikiran 6 months since the accusations surfaced on social media. It was clear that a deliberate and vindictive attempt was made to tarnish the image of a senior musician due to political or personal vendettas.
2) Acharyanet.com, the leading online education portal for South Indian Classical Music, established in 2010 has been working with many top artists to bring classical music learning to a global audience. Mr Ravikiran is a well-known instructor for Acharyanet and has worked with numerous students worldwide. There has never been a single cause for concern or complaint against any of the artists connected with Acharyanet.com including Mr Ravikiran.
3) The entire music community is aware of the fact that the accusations against senior artistes were targetted at specific individuals to further a political agenda.
4) Certain individuals have been deliberately inserting misinformation in the form of comments on this Wiki page, carrying out destructive campaigns against artistes.
5) When very young children use Wiki, far more care has to be taken to delete yellow journalism “reports” not relevant to the subject matter even if they have citations.
6) As a parent of children who use Wiki often, I would be concerned about children having access to misinformation and adult topics on Wiki pages, especially about artistes.
Mere baseless allegations and accusations should not be included on a Wiki page. This has been happening for many months on this page now. Hope this is addressed here on this forum.
