Should this project be referred to as a EP or studio album?

There seems to be a lot of contradicting statements online on whether this is an EP or a studio album. In the article should we refer to it as an EP or a studio album? -- DovahDuck ( talk) 11:49, 5 April 2018 (EST)

@ DovahDuck: I think this project is a EP instead an album, but that depends on the sources. TheAmazingPeanuts ( talk) 16:15, 5 April 2018 (UTC) reply
@ DovahDuck: I'd personally consider it an EP, but techically, I'd say it is an album. As pointed out on the wikipage Extended play, "the Official Chart Company defines a boundary between EP and album classification at 25 minutes of maximum length or four tracks (not counting alternative versions of featured songs, if present)." My Dear Melancholy, is 21:50 long, and it has 6 tracks. So I believe it should be called an album. Johnnyboytoy ( talk) 01:15, 6 April 2018 (UTC) reply
@ DovahDuck: Honestly it is an EP. When you go in the mini-album article it redirects to mini-LP, which is defined as "a short vinyl record album or LP", not a digital album; right at top of the page it says that EPs are releases marketed as "mini-albums" in Asia (which applies to this case too). I think that the editor who made the change should have go here and start this discussion before making the edits for these two reasons: it is not a vinyl record album or LP, and the way it was marketed as a "mini-album" is the same way as in Asia — actually an EP, not a short vinyl record album or LP. I think that we should refer to it as an EP (which actually is) but also with those observations — some consider it as an album, and others as an mini-album. Also, the Pitchfork review does not interfere if it's an EP or not, first: they are not associated with the label, if they made the change in their article it's their issue; and second, many other publications diverge whether it's an EP, an album or a mini-album.
