There's a major math error where it says that Ellard (now Sim) was 19 in March 2022. In fact, she was 39! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.135.194 ( talk) 02:39, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
I think Reena Virk's headshot should be displayed.
Look at this site at CTV: New trial..., now click on the video section. Once the video screen pops up, go to full screen mode. Go around 0:40 seconds and you will hear a reporter asking Kelly Ellard(who is seen walking to court with her parents) "Kelly, did you kill Reena Virk?". Ellard replies, "Obviously". Could she be admitting to murder? Or is the media twisting things around to make it sound like she confessed to the murder of Reena Virk?
Thanks, I saw the video. The audio isn't the best, so it sounds unclear as to what they asked her. To me, it sounded like she was asked her, "Do you feel(compassion) for the Virks? And she replies, "obviously". I tend to believe that was the question. I don't know I could be wrong. TripleH1976 12:31, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
She said something like "No, but obviously I'm going to be convicted anything so what does it matter"
I'm just curious what the source is for the appeal of Ellard's third trial that's included on this page....if someone could please provide me with a source, that would be wonderful because I can't seem to find a record of it in any legal database, aside from an appeal where Ellard was assigned counsel for the purpose of a future appeal. Thanks in advance. Legalresearcher123 ( talk) 00:23, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
However, Warren Glowatski has his own page. Considering the 4th trial for Ellard is about to start and she has been the main media focus, there needs to be a page for her or the Warren Glowatski page should also redirect (since the murder of Reena Virk and subsequent trials are the only thing he is notable for). -- 198.162.133.115 ( talk) 15:38, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Since Kelly Ellard does not have a page, and Warren Glowatski is only notable for his involvement in this crime, it makes sens that the Warren Glowatski page be merged into this one. -- Kickstart70- T- C 03:22, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
I have deleted comments such as "She definitely is sick," "A life sentance will do him good," etc. The point of the Talk page is not to chat or vent your personal feelings. You will need to find an appropriate message board to do that. The purpose of the Talk page is to request, make, and verify changes to the article itself, being mindful to provide sources for everything and to stick to the subject. In other words, your POV is not wanted here or in the article.

This article seems to have been neglected for quite a while. I've merged the Warren Glowatski page into it, and moved the whole thing to Murder of Reena Virk per articles on various other murder victims. I have also updated some information, and rearranged and rewritten most of the article. Somebody needs to go through and update some of the references. Exploding Boy ( talk) 20:08, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I looked for the discussions that preceded the merge of Kelly Ellard to this article, I looked to see whether that merger was the conclusion of an {{ afd}}. That merger and redirection seems to have been undiscussed.
Ellard's appeals went all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada, and I was very susprised she didn't have an article of her own. Geo Swan ( talk) 15:17, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I deleted a link about the "Shoreline Six" from this page to ireference.ca. Ireference.ca seems to be a direct copy of this Wikipedia page. Is this a thing they're doing? Inserting links into Wikipedia pages to get people to view their copy of the page?

The writing is too colloquial and obscure. For instance "first swarmed by a group of friends" appears to mean "attacked by a group of friends [sic]". Royalcourtier ( talk) 22:58, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
Is it really necessary to mention that name every time Sim's name comes up, including up to four times in one four-sentence paragraph and twice in one sentence? 104.153.40.58 ( talk) 19:43, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
Why does this have a category for "racially motivated violence" when the core of the article doesn't discuss racism? 82.45.168.148 ( talk) 15:34, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
