I'm concerned about calling an 11-year-old runaway someone's "girlfriend". Statutory rape victim seems slightly more appropriate but... But I don't know what the sources say and I don't want to overstep.

Jengod: I agree, I re-worded it. The sources use "girlfriend" in quotes so I decided to just re-word it altogether. Regards.

I've checked that source, made a slight adjustment. The newspaper calls her his "girlfriend", scare quotes included, and says he was later charged with statutory rape.

The sources for the first two sentences of the final para don't mention Gardner, Plath, or Arnold. I think this is OR, and really the entire paragraph feels kind of like editorializing.

I've made some edits to address.
