Cool new area. Saw a movie recently done mostly using Motion capture actors.-- Tomwsulcer ( talk) 00:58, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
The intro section indicates that mo-cap is usually done against a blue-screen backdrop. This doesn't make much sense as the purpose of a blue-screen, or chroma key, is to replace the background of a shot with a different background in post-production. However, motion capture is an entirely unrelated process which does not even require that any of the film/video footage as-shot even be included in the final production - by contrast to chroma key, where inherently some elements are included as-shot. Typical mo-cap systems don't care about anything other than the markers, so a blue-screen would not make any difference (unless there are also live action elements being shot at the same time and these have to have the set replaced.)
Look at mo-cap sessions on YouTube from major movies and you will almost never see a blue or green screen.
As such I suggest this statement be removed unless a solid reference exists that some mo-cap system requires blue-screen. Even then, I wouldn't use the word "usually" as it's definitely not "usually" the case.

I'm not sure why these are separate articles, when they are about mostly the same thing. Natg 19 ( talk) 00:02, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
