Whilst I agree the Monument itself isn't the focus of the article, most station pics are external shots with internal shots as additionals (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_London_Transport for an example). There just aren't many exterior shots of TWM stations in the Commons.
The reason I added the platform 4 picture to the article was to illustrate the mobile phone usage - something that is certainly unique in the UK and is not universal elsewhere.

I think that's a reasonable compromise. DrFrench 17:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
"During construction of the station in the late 1970s, the monument was temporarily removed."
Something like this really needs a citation. While I wasn't alive at the time the station was being built, nothing I've ever read about the Metro construction or the monument itself has mentioned anything like it.
Not only that, it seems highly implausible, as the monument is so massive. I can envisage them being able to move the monument a few dozen feet if that was necessary (using rollers, as has been done for many buildings and structures), but the idea of actually removing the entire structure, and replacing it at a later date, just does not ring true at all. 217.155.20.163 20:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
