This article has been established, in parallel to similar articles such as Manchuria under Yuan rule, Tibet under Yuan rule, Korea under Yuan rule and Mongolia under Qing rule etc. -- Cartakes ( talk) 11:47, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
By the way, some IP user marked it as duplicated to the Yuan dynasty article, but this is in fact absurd. Both the focuses and the contents of these two articles are completely different, obviously. Regions such as Mongolia, Manchuria, Tibet, Korea were all under the rule of the Yuan dynasty, but you can't say they were duplicated to the Yuan dynasty article itself. According to for example the book "Mongolian Nomadic Society: A Reconstruction of the 'Medieval' History of Mongolia" by Bat-Ochir Bold, p91, "Mongolia was one of the 12 provinces (including the central province) of the Yuan dynasty. Just like other provinces, Mongolia was governed from the provincial chancellery (hsing zhongshusheng), which was located in Kara-Korum". This article exists just like similar articles such as Manchuria under Yuan rule and Korea under Yuan rule, as Mongolia, Manchuria and Korea were each governed by a single Yuan province. Even China was governed by the Yuan, but not as a single province, and it might not be very easy to define its actual extent during the Yuan (for example, did it cover all areas under the former Southern Song dynasty and Jin dynasty (1115-1234)?). Furthermore, the article Mongolia under Qing rule exists too for discussing Qing-era Mongolia, which was an outer region of the Qing. -- Cartakes ( talk) 11:54, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
