On 30 April 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from Modern Baseball (band) to Modern Baseball. The result of the discussion was moved. |
The song is commonly mistaken as a Modern Baseball song; is it relevant to note that the song is by Brendan Lukens? If so, where should this fact be placed? Here's an interview with WTSR 91.3 FM and one with TCNJ Lions Television (The College of New Jersey). LostGirlSleepyEyes ( talk)3:58, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
Holy Ghost has since been released (in May of this year) and this information is still missing from the article nearly four months later. Camdiagonale ( talk) 23:41, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
The bit under the history heading about the band managing their busy schedules seems irrelevant and at least could be expanded on. It would perhaps also be crucial to add information about Lukens managing his mental illness [1] in the time before their release of "MoBo Present: The Perfect Cast" [2] . Could update this article to include information about the Holy Ghost tour [3] with Thin Lips and Joyce Manor. Camdiagonale ( talk) 23:48, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
There's also no source for the fact that they named their band after the book "Modern Baseball Techniques". It's also very troubling that this article does not list their EPs. Camdiagonale ( talk) 23:56, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. Cases like this are exactly what WP:DIFFCAPS is for. There is very little policy-based opposition to this move, and nobody has shown that the capitalization difference isn't enough to differentiate the two subjects, especially when "modern baseball" as a term referring to the sport does not have a particular meaning that can be picked out, and when it's a term that's used somewhat infrequently. Modern Baseball (band) → Modern Baseball – Page was moved without consensus. WP:DIFFCAPS should be enough of a disambiguation here, parentheses are unnecessary. The Midnite Wolf ( talk) 12:50, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
first team to play baseball under modern ruleswas established? Is it 1876, when the National League was established? Is it some time after the dead-ball era? The Google Books results are similarly inconsistent: did modern baseball begin with the Federal League's emergence in 1913, the Black Sox scandal of 1919, or within the past twenty years? By contrast, the band "Modern Baseball" has a clear and specific definition – and, as shown by Nohomersryan above, that subject is sought by thousands of readers. The hatnote proposed by Roman Spinner is more than sufficient for clarification. Finally, I will emphasize WP:DIFFCAPS, which is policy and which further supports the proposed move.
