"On April 21, 2007, Mirko faced Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 70 in Manchester, England. Mirko was the heavy favorite amongst his fans for this bout, and Gonzaga was considered just a stepping stone in Mirko's path to conquer the relativley weak UFC Heavyweight Division. This time Mirko did not come out to "Pride FC Theme" as his entrance music, but rather went back to the old boyband "DuranDuran" and "Wild Boys". The match was highly one sided, Gonzaga was definetley not scared of CroCop like Eddie Sanchez was. Crocop did not push the pace, he was back to being to defensive and showed no interest in winning at all.
Gonzaga took Mirko down and landed some hard elbows that opened up small cuts and bruises on Mirkos face. The ref Herb Dean decided to stand the fighters up, even though Gonzaga had a dominant position and was quite busy with elbow strikes, both fighters were measuering eachother before Gonzaga landed a perfect Right High Kick to CroCops head that sent the "Croatian Sensation" crashing to the floor. "
This is what actually happened in the match......i have noticed that matches where CroCop was victorious are talked about in detail, while his losses (like the recent one are marginalised. Do not remove this unless you have clear reasons.
It is poorly written (bad grammar, spelling) and highly opinionated. Just the guy 05:02, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Can we get some edits done on that? That section of the article doesn't seem very "encyclopedic". While the man is known for his left high kick to knock people out, I don't think it's necesary to go on about every technique he has used more than twice. I think the whole section can be shortened from what it is now. MezzoMezzo 17:07, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
the qualtiy of the picture used on the cro cop page is absolutley rubbish we need a new image one with with graphical qualtiy of a satisfactory nature
good job

Recently, crocop just starred on a movie. I just saw a poster in front of the video club. I didnt had the chance to see it, but let's check it out later =D
Generally Cro-cop is listed as being 6'2"(188cm) and around 100kg in weight, here he is listed at 185cm and 105kg. It's always possible that a fighter is shorter than his list height, where does this height information come from?
http://www.hnk-cibalia.hr/igraci/Mirko-Filipovic/ He is also a football player in a Croatian team Cibalia Vinkovci.[1] --The link seems to be broken now, but he did sign for a Croatian football team in the last couple of years I think it was just a promotional gimmick for the club though, he didn't actually play, just trained with the team a few times. I'll try to find the article I read.-- HardCopy 01:25, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Nothing has been confirmed yet about Mirko signing a contract with the UFC. In fact, his name continues to be listed as appearing at the New Year Eve Matsuri despite all of the speculation. We should consider removing rumors as they do not contribute to the factual nature of this article. 67.42.103.236 07:53, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
update- i'm sure a lot of you have seen by now, mmaweekly got with mirko's manager and confirmed nothing is finalized and they are still in negotiations, he still has not made a decision Thesaddestday 04:41, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
There are pictures on MMA.tv's underground forum of CroCop with a UFC hoody on that were taken just recently. Its pretty much a done deal at this point... User:DonnieFizive02 00:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Well it was official in a Croation newspaper a week or so ago. I guess if its not in an American source its not good enough for Wiki apparently... --Donnie from the mean streets of Boston, KY 18:33, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
has vicious power espesially in his roundhouse kicks , he often knocks out opponents by kicking them in the head , he has had one UFC fight against eddie sanchez and beat him. he has also had streetfights , the most rememberable street fight was against kal/hughes/douglass , where mirko kicked kal in the head and goodnight , kal did not get up .
ok i just watched 4 fights and noticed that the stats for 2 of them are wrong i'm not going to watch all of them and time them but i guessing there are more is there another source out there
Anyone have a link to the NovaTV interview where he apparently talked about retiring after Gonzaga?-- HardCopy 01:25, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Why is it saying on the Cro Cop's page that this page was protected to deal with vandalism? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NWo4lifePT ( talk • contribs) 06:20, 22 April 2007 (UTC).
Oh ok, I thought I've done anything wrong and that was the reason why the page was being protected. I did register myself only to improve Wikipedia, not to wreck the pages so it was kinda strange to see that the page was protected due to vandalism a couple of minutes after I did the last update on the page -- NWo4lifePT 22:09, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
In my opinions, the latest additions regarding Cro Cop's fight with Gonzaga are not only highly inappropriate and opinionated (i.e., the line which says "conquer the relativley weak UFC Heavyweight Division", including the misspelling) but also poorly composed. I think it should be removed, though Cro Cop's thought about the fight should be included, but properly cited. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Just the guy ( talk • contribs) 20:06, 25 April 2007 (UTC).
I'm not a registered user but there has been quite a bit of vandilization to both this and the Gonzaga page after the recent match, someone should go through and fix and protect these pages until the fire dies down. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.2.200.118 ( talk) 22:54, 25 April 2007 (UTC).
I believe the recent addition of a link to a discussion forum and a YouTube video should be removed. At Wikipedia:External_links#Links_normally_to_be_avoided, it specifically states to avoid "Links to social networking sites (such as MySpace), discussion forums or USENET." The added link to http://www.nokaut.com/forum/ is a link to a discussion forum and is to be avoided. It does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article (this is another criteria at Wikipedia:External_links#Links_normally_to_be_avoided). I previously deleted it, but the user Hal1338 ( talk · contribs) reinstated it, along with a YouTube video that I'm also not sure is appropriate as it doesn't provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article. The reason that Hal1338 gave for reinstating these links is at my user talk page: [1]. Please discuss this so that we can reach consensus on this issue. Sancho 08:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
YouTube links are most certainly acceptable. See: Wikipedia:External_links#Linking_to_YouTube.2C_Google_Video.2C_and_similar_sites, which states: There is no blanket ban on linking to these sites as long as the links abide by these guidelines. We can't remove a link to YouTube just because it's a link to YouTube. If its irrelevant, or breaks copyright laws, than the deletion is fine. - CasualFighter 00:29, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
I can not find Wikipedia:Reliable sources that refer to the incident at all. Only message forums and the youtube video. I will remove the material about the incident and the video. Sancho 08:01, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
In the UFC 75 card it says Kongo but the reference is in german. Can anyone help me out?
Another guy on the ufc 75 discussion translated the article and it said that he is to face kongo. Not a lot of quotes were used to i dont really know if i should believe this. Renny11 10:35 pm, 10 June 2007 (Pacific Time)
ufcjunkie.com seems to think he is fighting Kongo due to that german site that i showed you. I want Dana to say it first though. Renny11
