That's strange, this is only December 6th. If he's won? we would put Assuming office, Decemeber 21, 2009 & until that date, President-elect of Romania. GoodDay ( talk) 20:24, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Can someone undo the last edits and block this page for editing until at least Tuesday when the final results will be announced? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.114.151.85 ( talk) 20:54, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Nope, somebody has vandalized it again, now instead of Mircea Geoana it says 'PROSTANACUL COMUNIST' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.114.151.85 ( talk) 21:34, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm having trouble writing a concise and coherent piece on this. The story outline seems to be:
The issues in first two bullets above are clear, but the 3rd is quite murky right now, at least in the mainstream press. I'd be nice if the Western press reported on it (like they eventually did with Basescu's tape), but with the elections over, I think the interest on Romania may have waned there. So, we'd probably have to settle for Romania-only sources. Based on what I've seen so far, I'd write:
The sentence in [] is quite YMMV for now. Any other takes on this? Pcap ping 10:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Without any confirmation from a reliable source, this tape and Birchall's involvement are just speculations. Still I can only mention an article about a speech of President Băsescu from 2006, which may, or may not, be a coincidence. [ [4]] Notasmile ( talk) 14:30, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Despite Geoana having been deputy secretary general of NATO since 2019, virtually nothing is said about that in the article. What are his activities? What has he done? Why was he elected? 68.142.35.124 ( talk) 13:01, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
