Are your sure that "Miquelon" is Basque. -on is, I recall, a diminutive suffix in Gascon language as in Peyruton, "Pete"? French Basque Country was multilingual in Basque, Gascon and French. But, probably the names were cross-language.
What happened ? I understand Miquelon/St Pierre went with Vichy and were occupied by Canada. Streona ( talk) 21:06, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Do we really need separate under-100-word articles on Miquelon Island and Langlade, two near-uninhabited parts of a larger island (which is, in turn, part of a really small overseas territory)? I would say no. Even the only settlement, Miquelon, Miquelon-Langlade has mere 615 residents, and could gracefully be merged here. The current setup is unnecessarily granular and just distracts the reader. No such user ( talk) 14:42, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
