I changed the top info box to indicate that it was for the Windows version, not all of Microsoft Office. User Sek-2 wrote the following in Talk:Microsoft_Office/Archive_3:
This is a misunderstanding of what this page is. This page is about the family of Microsoft Office products, not about any current version of Microsoft Office. The first paragraph begins Microsoft Office, or simply Office, is a family of client software, server software, and services developed by Microsoft. It was first announced by Bill Gates on August 1, 1988, ...
Microsoft Office is the family name. It is also, sometimes along with Office 365 used to refer to the current Windows version of Microsoft Office. The Mac version used to be called Microsoft Office as well. When it was introduced, it was the only version and it kept that name even after the Windows version of Office was released. In fact, if you look at [ this page], you can see that the original version for Windows was called The Microsoft Office for Windows. Today, Microsoft does not appear to sell any product that is named simply Microsoft Office. These are all the products listed on www.microsoft.com:
Yeah, I was surprised there were so many versions too. None are named Microsoft Office by itself. None use the word "Microsoft" as part of the name. It looks like all are sold under the same name for both Mac and PC, with the caveat that Access is Windows-only. Users buy a version of Office and then activate it on a device of their choosing. I could not find a single place using the name "Microsoft Office for Mac". The closest is this page which uses the name "Office for Mac". The about boxes within the various products on Mac do not say either "Microsoft Office for Mac" or "Office for Mac". Instead, they say, for example "Microsoft® Word for Mac".
In summary "Microsoft Office for Mac" is not a name Microsoft currently used, nor is it the name they originally used. Although Microsoft used it at one time, today it is a description, not a name, for the series of products for Mac from 1988 to today. Similarly, the name "Microsoft Office" has been used to describe both the Windows and Mac versions at various times, was not the original of the Windows version and does not appear to be used by itself for the current Windows version.
Having the info box for the Windows version say "Microsoft Office" with no indication that this is only about the history of Microsoft Office for Windows is both inaccurate and misleading, and it is not consistent with other info boxes on Wikipedia. It is not correct for the current version, nor is it correct with historical versions. I will add that I am frustrated that somebody would revert my change twice without doing any actual research into the subject and without citing any sources.
Sek-2, please undo your revert or come up with suitable alternate info box names that are accurate.

It appears that Microsoft no longer distinguishes between applications on different platforms (desktop, the web, mobile, etc). See [1]. This also applies to Microsoft Outlook, Outlook.com, Outlook on the web and Microsoft Outlook mobile app (see also Talk:Microsoft Outlook#Merger proposal). To be honest, because the branding that Microsoft uses is exactly the same, it is very confusing to have disambiguation lines at the top because Microsoft itself makes no difference. The merged page should have different sections, such as "Desktop apps", "Web apps", "Mobile apps", and so on (instead of three separate pages Microsoft Office, Office on the web and Microsoft Office mobile apps).-- Officer781 ( talk) 00:52, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Office 2010 support was ended, so i could edit it and change to old version, no longer supported. Richblox999FX17 ( talk) 02:48, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi. As we might have heard, Office 2010 and Office 2016 for Mac are out of support. Would there be any possible updates for the Timelines of support section of this article? Furthermore, Office 2016 is now onto extended support. 129.205.113.241 ( talk) 00:10, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

I was the program manager for Microsoft Office for Macintosh CD-ROM v 1.0. I still have a box of that original product. If you would like photos for the Wikipedia page, here they are (I just took them).
It might be interesting that this first release called it "The Microsoft Office"; "The" was dropped from future releases.
By the way, the Microsoft Office for Mac CD-ROM, in addition to the four Microsoft applications, contained Hypercard-based computer-based training for the Office apps and a bunch of third party fonts, clip art, and utilities.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

In the section "History of Releases", the table for the Mac releases needs to be updated, specifically the "version number" for Office 2019 and Office 2021. The version number for Office 2019 should be 16.17-16.52, and the version number for Office 2021 should be 16.53-16.xx , where xx is >53.
