why was'nt michael stivic parents ever mentioned in the show or seen for that matter.
They were mentioned; it's often mentioned that they died.
Right. In the episode that shows Michael and Gloria's wedding (as a flashback) we learn that Michael's parents died in a car crash when he was very young and that Michael was raised by his Uncle. SnappingTurtle 16:18, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
It looks as though he now qualifies as both atheist and agnostic. Which is it? 77.161.70.128 ( talk) 17:38, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
How could he be Polish with a last name like Stivic? That is not a polish last name. Norum ( talk) 23:11, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Aren't we funny? They should have done a better research back then. But then, they are Americans, so that explains a lot. Norum ( talk) 10:10, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm an American and I, too, have wondered why they gave him such a non-Polish last name. I guess in the minds of Cold War-era America, all of Eastern Europe was the same. As is noted in the article, he's also supposed to be from Chicago, but has a thick New York accent. The funniest thing to me is that the article says he and Gloria moved to Santa Barbara when he got a job at UCLA. That's a hell of a commute! 71.115.89.70 ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:05, 16 May 2010 (UTC).
If he was an academic, what was his field?
