Not worthy of comment in the main article, but perhaps of interest to passing researchers, might be a wine auction, by Messrs Christie, Manson & Woods, on 28 June 1909, “The Property of The Right Hon. Lord Burton, deceased, removed from Chesterfield House, W., and Rangemore, Burton-on-Trent”. (My pictures 21174/88-92.) JDAWiseman ( talk) 11:14, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
The entry starts:- "Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton KCVO (12 November 1837 – 1 February 1909)" - an exact date of birth, but with no references.
The next paragraph starts:- "Bass was born at Burton" - again, with no references.
So I went to http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ - and the ONLY "Michael" born in Burton around 1837-8 was Michael Walker. The only "Michael Bass"es were born in Stow, and in 1839 and 1849.
