I re-added a gallery, I think it looks great and really is an improvement for this article.
In the "Bell towers" section, it refers to the north/south towers, but the cathedral faces roughly south. Shouldn't those references be changed to east and west towers? LinguistAt Large 04:41, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Sure enough! Good catch... Ill go back to my book when I get home and double check which tower has how many bells. Thelmadatter ( talk) 17:40, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
The fire was actually on January 17, 1967, not 1962. This mistake, unfortunately, has been copied now in many places in the English-language web.
Here is a quote in the book "Ensayos sobre la Ciudad de México" : El 17 de enero de 1967 un incendio en la Catedral metropolitana de Mexico, ocasionado por defectos de las instalacions electricas, deterioro el Altar de Perdon y parte del Coro. . . .
I think this was the only major fire in the 60s, since the Spanish-language wiki doesn't mention a 1962 fire, and the only sources for it I could find for it are all in English and all share the same wording--quoting this article, I assume.
An easy enough fix, but I just wanted to make sure everyone agrees I'm not mistaken. 66.58.143.86 ( talk) 22:37, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
