The categories claim Melissa auf der Maur subscribes to socialism, however I cannot find any information in the article to support this. Can anyone validate this claim? If not, I suggest the category be removed. Thanks! CessationLeakingThrough ( talk) 10:42, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Is this really neccesary? If MAdM is being labelled as "post-grunge" because of Hole, that's even wrong. Hole were not a grunge band, and MAdM is certainly not in any way post-grunge, a quick listen will be confirm this. I hope no one minds, but I'm going to remove the post-grunge genre, because it's very incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Idiotchalk ( talk • contribs) 08:32, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Is "Auf Der Maur" a solo-project or a self-titled band. The article uses both - it should be one or the other. -- Beardo 15:15, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Does It really make sense to put the Fountains of Wayne song under solo work???

I have assessed this as Start Class, as it contains more detail and organization than would be expected of a Stub, although it needs more inline citations. I have assessed this as mid importance, as I do feel that many people would be familiar with the subject of the article outside of Canada and the music industry. In the newest edition of her newsletter she stated, she is having a baby due spring 2012. ("building life inside") her blog She also expresses sympathie for the Occupy Wall Street protests. Saemikneu ( talk) 19:53, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
She announced it last May [1] aswell. I think creating a Personal life section would be the best option, and then adding this in. Idiotchalk ( talk) 20:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC) I did a Google search and it's hard to find out anything about the baby, the gender, when fetus-->neonate was born.........you gotta admire her for wanting to shelter her newborn, but I wish we could put something different in the opening paragraph. It's interesting that 2 of her contemporaries Louise Post and Nina Gordon had babies but they weren't quite as secretive. V Schauf ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:32, 6 April 2012 (UTC).
I'm french and I can tell you that "foufoune" actually translates as pussy and not as buttocks. I'm going to correct that in the article.
Contrary to what the text states, the Auf der Maur family is totally not extinct as can be read in the contemporary book of Swiss citizen Jost Auf der Maur http://www.onlinereports.ch/Kreative.115+M54c3508052d.0.html In Switzerland where the family originates and can be traced for over 400 years, the family and name is alive and well. A little less americocentrism is advised. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:45:4904:DFDA:D811:A81C:8B8E:32C3 ( talk) 13:38, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Anybody knows anything? It can be assumed, she abandoned music in favor of her private life. Saemikneu ( talk) 10:52, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Melissa Auf Der Maur still makes music. But I think she devoted a lot of time to her family and her art gallery, the Basilica Hudson in Hudson, NY.
