This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
This article should probably be renamed to something like Mekelle Offensive, because right now the Ethiopian army is still a distance away from the city and it seems like a
Wikipedia:CRYSTALBALL violation.

I fully concur, there is no actual fighting ongoing in Mekelle other than airstrikes.

I think
Battle of Mekelle (2020) should be merged into this article. I'm not sure why it was created, as right now there is still no confirmed fighting in the city, but even if fighting does start in the city it can just go into this article. --

I support, but I think the article should be merged into Battle of Mekelle not the other way around since most fighting will take within that city. “Offensive” makes it seem like it was a campaign to capture a province rather than a city. Battle of Mosul took place within the city only in November, a month after it started yet it’s called a battle instead of offensive.

However, before the
Battle of Mosul (2016-17) there was the
Mosul offensive (2016), and the Battle of Mosul took place on the immediate outskirts of the city before it moved into the city itself. The problem right now is that there is no confirmed fighting either in Mekelle or on the immediate outskirts of Mekelle, nor has any source called it "The Battle of Mekelle", so right now it goes against Wikipedia policy to have a Battle of Mekelle article. --

I suggest we redirect, as there is nothing to merge. -

I just made a redirect and merged what I could here. -
