I think I have cleaned up the article sufficient to justify removing the cleanup tag. I added context and cited more sources. The article is, on balance, pretty npov. -- TrustTruth ( talk) 18:05, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
This article goes on and on with no citations. It fails to note the relevance of references to George Wythe University, Oliver DeMille and Shanon Brooks. Reference to Brooks' involvement in the community is not cited. Relevance of his position with GWU is not established. This feels a little like journalism, rather than an encyclopedia article. -- Ibinthinkin ( talk) 15:45, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
The Lead: There is no citation supporting regarding the dates provided. The citation in question relates peripherally to the topic in general, but does is not support the language of the first paragraph. The assertion of financial mismanagement is POV problem, and as noted below, the extrapolation can easily be contradicted by the well-established fact that the Institute's million-dollar facility, which was under construction, was destroyed in an explosion resulting from the rupture of a propane line by record snow fall.
"Founding": This paragraph does not have a single supporting citation. It makes reference to a series of articles authored by the same editor, all with the same penchant for laying down claims without citation, or, alternatively, citations that mention the subject and yet do not establish the claim (and in several cases clearly disagree with it). They seem to create a inter-connecting web of support for this editor's version of the truth, but careful examination indicates that the citational support is either non-existent or deficient to establish the truth of the language proffered. For example, the claim the the Institute for Constitutional Education was previously a part of the National Center for Constitutional Studies is no where substantiated, but repeatedly declared.
"Fundraising": No supporting citation.
"Mammoth Valley": No supporting citation.
"Timeline of Collapse": supporting citations relevant only to tangential minutia, not the essence of the article.
Youth for America conferences are not held at Mammoth Valley, but on the GWU Monticello campus property [ YFA].
One of the articles cited refers to the fact that a primary asset of the subject of the article was destroyed in an accident with propane during a record-breaking winter while it was yet under construction. The implication that the principals lost the monies donated to the project due to fraud (rather than as a result of disaster)is not supported by the documentation. This article appears to have as its purpose to tell a story personally known to the editor (but nowhere supported with reliable sources) from a point of view intended to disparage the subject and related individuals. With the unsubstantiated and biased material removed, there is virtually no article left. Recommend for deletion. -- Ibinthinkin ( talk) 16:54, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
