Firstly, in Wikipedia, when we discuss about issues we don't show examples from other articles to prove our point. There was move discussion two times for Prayagraj and I don't know what happened for that article but that is totally unrelated to this discussion. Because you see,
Astana was changed to Nur Sultan, but it is same in Wikipedia. Turkey was changed to Turkiye but it is same in English Wikipedia. So these type of questions will not get us anywhere. There is something you said "Wikipedia didn't update it" and it is incorrect. Wikipedia don't do anything here. We, the editors of Wikipedia, do things based on guidelines.
So the thing is the name "Chattogram" is used by Bengali-language publications from British India. But in present time although the government of Bangladesh changed its name, many English-language publications still use the name "Chittagong". And the funny thing here is the web address of the government website of Chittagong District is
chittagong.gov.bd, not chattogram.gov.bd.
Banglapedia uses Chittagong. British Council use the name Chittagong.
But maybe there will be a time when usage of Chattogram will be prominent, in that time there will be no problem to move the article to Chittagong.
