From what I believe, the current MD 17 once connected to VA 17 (now VA 287) at the Virginia border, so the switch was for number continuity from VA 17 to MD 17. Dough487217:22, 14 March 2012 (UTC)reply
How best to word the sentences about the bridge being the busiest? When I read the article I immediaetly thought of vehicle traffic, of which is has very little compared to many bridges, but obviously it means marine traffic.
