There is an awful lot of irrelevancy on this page some of which I have trimmed. The section on motivation is more or less an essay and a fairly opiniated and rambling one at that.

This article has some serious BLP issues. There is a lot of opinion disguised as analysis and lots of unsourced discussion that furthers a point of view. I don't really have time to do the research required to clean this up appropriately, so I'm going to list it as BLP/N in the hope someone there can attempt it.
