The article claims that lopez graduated in 1990, however, he is listed as a state place winner in wrestling in 1991, meaning he couldn't have graduated until '91. See here for results: [1] -- Liljimmyt ( talk) 03:05, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Why has the reference to his date rape charge been deleted multiple times? The charge was big news at the time, and even if he denies it, it should be mentioned as part of his history. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Otherland71 ( talk • contribs) 18:18, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Mario López → Mario Lopez — Official website uses his name without an accent. While other sources (IMDB, TV.com, etc.) include the accent, if his official site doesn't stylize his name that way, that could be considered definitive. Another editor has removed all instances of the accent in the article. Tinlinkin 11:01, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
So, how do we know what is the correct spelling? I'd say we need a definitive source, one way or the other, before we change it. Maybe we should just ask him, through his site; that'd settle it. Unless that falls under "original research"? But if he posted an answer on his site, it could be used as a reference I guess. If I remember to, I'll try to ask through his site, but if someone else beats me to it, I won't mind. :) -- Ebyabe 20:46, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
The examples of Celine Dion (notice the article is not at Céline Dion) and Kimi Räikkönen are non-native English/Americans who were originally named in French/Finnish. Lopez is a native American and there is no evidence he ever uses Spanish for his name. — AjaxSmack 10:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
It was widely reported at the time that the reason he and Ali Landry split was because he cheated on her. Can anybody find a link. I just saw this the other day on one of those VH1 specials and it made me think about adding it here. Unfortunately, the edit Nazis don't like that. Billywhack 03:24, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

In the movie Colors that WAS not Mario Lopez as some seem to believe. That was another actor by the same name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.205.22.196 ( talk) 21:19, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
I removed the ending of the paragraph as there was no reference for anything in the whole paragraph about his DWTS performance and the last part of the sentence was inflammatory and accusing DWTS of favoritism and unfairness.
The paragraph was : In the fall of 2006, Lopez signed on as a contestant on the third season of Dancing with the Stars on ABC with professional partner and then-girlfriend Karina Smirnoff who was making her series debut. They finished in second place, losing to the team of Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke, despite scoring higher than them on average and despite "breaking all the rules" when he broke the hold on both his 2nd and 3rd week during his Quickstep and Tango.
If his fans want the ending of the sentence to remain, then I will add that the possible reason he lost was that he doesn't have the fan base that Emmitt has as voting from fans is a part of the scoring system. Mylittlezach ( talk) 15:55, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
He is of Mexican, Latino and Hispanic descent. ... Really? Meaning what? How are different, separated things being Hispanic, Latino or Mexican descent? Once you're from Mexican descent you're Hispanic and Latino. JoeSatana ( talk) 07:53, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

The referenced article says he was baptized in March, but further down the article says that in 2015 he was a proud Catholic. I wouldn't be surprised if he was rebaptized in the Jordan, as a renewal, but this is the only article I can find and it's a blog (While at the Jordan River, Lopez was led by a pair of Catholic priests to renew his baptismal promises). -- Richardson mcphillips ( talk) 02:51, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
Why is Mario Lopez's political views as a Republican/conservative edited out of the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:281:c300:1672:9992:3988:93c1:44bc ( talk) 07:34, 8 May 2019 (UTC)
So there's currently some edit warring going on with regards to some transphobic comment he recently made. While I honestly doubt that those involved will bother to read the Talk page, it's worth a shot: The proper way to do what you're trying to do is add a "Controversy" or "Criticism" section (see similar articles for examples), state what the kerfuffle is all about, and (this is important) cite your sources.
And hey, what he said sounds pretty awful, so I applaud your efforts, but if you actually want to effect things in the long term, you have to play by rules. Also, you'll still probably get push back and you may be in for a wiki politics fight. Personally, I don't have the spoons and if you wanna participate in cancel culture, I'm not sure Wikipedia is the best forum for it. Karatorian ( talk) 05:10, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Why isn't it mentioned that he was a heavy user of crack cocaine? He was almost fired from his show because he would smoke crack before filming. He was also a heroin addict. Zach Morris found him overdosing in the dressing room with a needle still stuck in his arm. He also fucked Lisa turtle in the mouth. 2600:100E:B07C:A04B:5445:3972:486B:E643 ( talk) 23:00, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
