A good article, if somewhat hagiographic. There is nothing on the drugs scandal in the 1998 Tour de France that Pantani won. This would seem to be of some relevance to the subject. Rollo
Ok mister IMSop, didn't mean to make anything bad, just wanted to clear a very old comment that was no more actual. But you may be true, I am quite new here so I'm sorry if I did something bad. So let's say the problem is now fixed because I inserted stuff about 1998 doping scandal. -- Jmcmegamega 11:58, 23 Apr 2005 (UTC)

In Matt Rendell's book, the question of whether the autopsy confirmed, or otherwise, Pantani's use of r-EPO, is addressed directly to Professor Fortuni, a lecturer in Forensic Medecine, who conducted the analysis of Pantani's corpse. He is unequivocal in stating that the autopsy did not provide proof one way or the other. Buffalo Bill talk to me 13:47, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

In the article both haematocrit and hematocrit are used. I'm unsure of the version of english originally used to start this article, hence my apprehension to edit it. But I believe for the sake of consistency throughout the article, one of the two spellings should be picked and stayed with. Personally I'm in favour of haematocrit, since it appears first. I'd appreciate some input from other users before I change all references to this molecule in the article to either haematocrit or hematocrit. Rufioh ( talk) 14:17, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
There's also inconsistency with -ise vs -ize spellings of words e.g. "rigged by Italian organised crime" and "The Memorial Marco Pantani has been organized annually". An -ise spelling appears before the first -ize spelling in the article, hence I'm also inclined to edit those to -ise spellings, unless anyone has a compelling reason not to.
