Hi, I'm a local and the lighthouse sits in "Chandler-Hovey" park. The lighthouse itself is also sometimes refered to as "Chandler-Hovey Lighthouse". I dunno how official that is, but it should at least be mentioned.
More important, tho, is the fact that NO ONE calls it "Marblehead Light"!! It is either "The Lighthouse", if talking locally, or "Marblehead Lighthouse" if addressing outsiders. In fact, I don't know anyone who uses "light" for "lighthouse", even in a general sense -- is that a regional thing?
Worse yet, the term "Marblehead Light" is quite common here and refers unambiguously to our POWER COMPANY. This article needs to be moved.
Alas, but I don't know how to do it. Someone? 66.105.218.6 ( talk) 03:45, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
I agree with your logic, one day the feds, state and even USCG will all agree on the same name for something, until then we unfortunately have to go with the "official" line. Geotek ( talk) 14:46, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
