I have doubts that Meneses was the first person beatified from Central America, as the last section notes. When I look at the source (the BBC article on John Paul II's beautifications), I see that it uses the phrase "first blessed." Does this have a different meaning from "beautified"? Or perhaps she was the first Central American that John Paul II blessed? I don't have much personal knowledge or insight into these meanings or processes.
