Image:Manitas de Plata 2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have modified the clause of the opening paragraph saying he continues to be esteemed by aficionados of flamenco. Esteemed by many people he may be be, but in the flamenco world he's always been considered a joke, mainly because the fundamental concept of compás seems to be unknown to him. See for example Donn Pohren's "The Art of Flamenco" (Society of Spanish Studies, various editions).

Each of these is a guitarist that "you think is better", and sure, they can play well, but "better" is very subjective. But only a tin-eared dud would say that Manitas de Plata "has always been considered a joke". "JOKE" (sic)!!! Those people must belong to some little clique of tone-deaf cronies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77Mike77 ( talk • contribs) 18:57, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
What rules of rhythm did he "disrespect"? Given that he was far better than the rest, maybe the rules needed stretching. Seriously, if one is going to level a criticism at one of the masters of flamenco guitar, one ought to be more specific. 77Mike77 ( talk) 02:28, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Not sure i'm typing in the right place but here we go: i simply think that even if there were some critics (only one cited), this fact should not be presented in the opening paragraph as if it is the overriding identifying factor of his life and career. It would be much kinder to someone who spent his life entertaining audiences worldwide if this one criticism, if it must be mentioned, were kept toward the back of the article. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.59.164 ( talk) 13:56, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Much happier! :) Now thinking it would be more accurate to say that 'In addition to his intuitive flair and expertise in standard forms of Flamenco, he was admired for his freewheeling style, taking the form into new areas beyond those defined by traditional compas'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.59.164 ( talk) 11:53, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
