I propose that Malabar region be merged into Malabar Coast. They seem to be discussing the same subject, the common name for which I think is Malabar Coast. Batternut ( talk) 12:57, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
I am reviving Batternut's proposal to merge Malabar Coast into Malabar Region (or the other way round -- I don't mind). Malabar Coast is quite short but fairly well referenced; Malabar Region is more developed in scope but has no references; and the two articles largely overlap in scope and content. I note Crawford88's argument above that 'coast' is geographical and 'region' is political/social, but (a) I see no evidence that there is an official area called 'Malabar region' (by contrast with Malabar District) and (b) it's clear that in practice 'Malabar Coast' is used not simply to talk about the geographical feature of the shoreline, but the associated region and its societies. The articles are covering the same topic, and Malabar Region uses the term 'Malabar Coast' as a synonym for 'Malabar Region'. Alarichall ( talk) 10:47, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Malabar Coast's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I think this article is Vandalised beacuse :
1) Map shows Malabar coast from Karnataka's Karwar to Tamil Nadu Kanyakumari but State in infobox is mentioned Kerala and Karnataka only.
2) No. of districts ; 18 (4 in Kerala, 0in Karnataka, and 0 in Tamil Nadu) my question is if only 4 district in Kerala , then what is the necessary of mentioning 0 in Karnataka and Tamilnadu? If it is 18 then where are others?
3) Languages
• Official ; Malayalam, Tulu, English ;
Tulu is not official in any of this States ( Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu ) then how it is official in wiki infobox?
4) ISO 3166 code IN-KL and Vehicle registration KL-10 to KL- 14 This article mentionied ; "The term is used to refer to the entire Indian coast from the western coast of Konkan to the tip of India at Kanyakumari". Then why ISO code and Vehicle registration is only Kerala? If it is in Kerala only then why Map include other states and above statement is mentioned?
