Isn't there a page in Hebrew (or in any other language) about the party? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.12.83.107 ( talk • contribs)
I added a merger tag, for merging this article with Palestine Communist Party. Joel Beinin (in Was the Red Flag Flying There?: Marxist Politics and the Arab-Israeli Conflict in Egypt and Israel, 1948-1965, Berkeley: University of California Press, 1990) doesn't state that PKP was dissolved, rather he says that the activity of the party continued. He mentions that PKP changed name to Communist Party of Eretz-Israel (MAKEI), later to MAKI (although he doesn't specify exactly how these changes occured). As per NLL, Beinin states that the NLL branches within the areas specified for the Jewish state in the 1947 UN Partition Plan joined MAKI, i.e. that MAKI already existed when the NLL branches and members joined. -- Soman ( talk) 15:39, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
I oppose the merger as Arab members (who are now) of the Palestine Communist Party disagree with this narrative. This issue has been written about in the al-itihad newspaper and the notion has been dismissed. Further, Rakah/Hadash historians also disagree with this narrative. The Palestine communist party was an Arab nationalist movement and Maki was not. This is precisely what led to the demise of Miki and the exit of Arab members to form Rakah. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.185.128.43 ( talk) 03:26, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Oppose The split and reforming was an important part of Palestinian Nationalism narrative not just Israeli history.... Ashley kennedy3 ( talk) 15:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

My vector logo of Maki seems to be accepted in Commons, so I may readd it back.
There is significant overlap in Maki (historical political party) and Maki (political party). They should probably either be merged or be made more distincit, i.e. each focusing on a distinct period or aspect of the party's/parties' history. إيان ( talk) 19:59, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
