Can we please merge this article into something else? There's no point in this article existing - all the history of it should go into the Main South Line which is what it actually is, and the individual stations' history should be part of the Inner West Line article or the individual stations. I have never heard of the title "Main Suburban Line" being used - the line between Redfern & Strathfield has always been part of the Main South. See here - this site is sourced from a number of reputable books which would seem to agree with me. JROBBO 06:57, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Central. The Illawarra commences from the Illawarra junction. Yes ? (Bozier) -- Dave Rave ( talk) 22:20, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
this article should be renamed or edited to reflect its historic nature. The main suburban no longer exists as is described in this article. The name itself exists as a contradiction, the suburban now refers to a specific piece of track between central platform 18 and St marys platform 4, while the main West runs from Sydney yard until well past the suburban network. All line names are now available online at railsafe [1]
